Spring Valley Village, Houston Texas

Spring Valley Village is a city in Harris County, Texas and an enclave in the city of Houston. It was developed in the 1930s and incorporated in 1955, thereby avoiding annexation to Houston during that city's rapid expansion.

According to recent census data, the population of Spring Valley Village was 4,260 in 2022, with 47.5% being male and 52.5% female. The median age is 42 and the median household income is $72,336 as of 2023.

Spring Valley is one of the Memorial Villages, a group of villages that came together in the mid-1950s to discuss incorporating to protect their small towns from Houston's expansion and lack of zoning ordinances. Spring Valley, like the rest of the Memorial Villages, has a mayor/council form of government. The village has its own municipal court and police department. The Village Fire Department serves all of the Memorial Villages.

Spring Valley Village is served by the Spring Branch Independent School District. Students are zoned to Bear Boulevard School in Spring Valley for pre-Kindergarten, Valley Oaks Elementary School in Spring Branch, Spring Branch Middle School in Hedwig Village, and Memorial High School, also in Hedwig Village. The nearest public library is Spring Branch Memorial Library, a branch of Harris County Public Library, in Hedwig.

City Park in Spring Valley is a shady space with two playgrounds, one for older children and one for toddlers, a jogging trail, restrooms and a gazebo. It's a family-oriented space that is known for the monument "Love's Embrace" in memory of a mother and her two young daughters who passed away in the crash of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. There are also memorial plaques in front of trees throughout the park.
